WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Institute for Legislative Analysis Center for Healthcare Affordability is proud to present Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) with the 2026 Congressional Leadership Award.
The award recognizes a member of Congress who has used a leadership position to move lawmakers toward more limited government solutions. Congressman Griffith has done exactly that as Chairman of the Health Subcommittee on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Congressman Griffith earned a top ten ranking on ILA’s Healthcare Affordability Index and lead every Republican on the committee to achieve a score of 80 percent or higher. Also under his leadership, the committee advanced bills to improve health care affordability, expand patient choice, and protect individual freedom from Washington-driven health care mandates.

The Center for Healthcare Affordability constructed the first ever system to track and grade lawmaker performance specifically on health care policy. The center evaluates lawmakers through a framework focused on five major affordability challenges: skyrocketing insurance premiums, rising medical treatment costs, shrinking competition and fewer quality options, higher provider costs and less transparency, and exploding government spending.
The Center is a project of the Institute for Legislative Analysis, a national data and policy hub that houses the largest ideological voting data sets on the U.S. Congress.
